Hi! My 16 year old son wants to apply to be a lifeguard. They did the prerequisite test but he fell short. I'm assuming he's needing to strengthen up. My question is, what types of exercises inside or outside the water would help him get better for this test/certification? He's about 5'7" and 115 lbs, so pretty lean. Thank you in advance for any help and suggestions! Oh also, the test consisted of threading water for 3 mins with a 10lb brick which he struggled a bit. Retrieving a brick 12 ft under which he struggled as well. Swimming 150 yds which he didn't have problems with.
