Hi, new to Reddit and also swimming. I’m taking lessons that will last about a month or so to improve on my strokes- so I’ll have basic knowledge on .. well the basics I guess. Can anyone suggest a simple routine to target building muscle with swimming. I have an Apple Watch and access to a 50m indoor pool and full gym. I’m looking to go two to three days a week.
Some background- I know how to power lift/olympic lift and feel very confident in a typical gym. I also know how to count macros and I plan so SLOWLY bring that back into my life.
I’m a little hesitant to jump hard back into the gym because I’ve lost 60 pounds in 7 months just from breast feeding. My main goal was to find a new activity that uses the whole body and slowly build back my stamina and strength back.
Is swimming like running where you lean out? Or will I be expecting to see some gains? Anyway, thank you for any help- I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for with this, but any advice would be grateful.
