Did I save my life?

I'm at a beach in Nicaragua, going around the shoreline. I decide to climb some of the cool layered rock to see the end of the beach (a small Gulf type of thing) when I come across a divot(?) in the mountain side that looks really damn deep and unsafe. I get closer to take a look and a large wave maybe about to my waist (I was like 3 feet above the water) came at me. I was scared and I knew if it hit me I would've gone in the soup, i didn't want to drown so i full send it jumped into a more jagged safer part of the cool rock hurting myself in the process. When I looked back at the divot water I saw a pretty large spiral, like wingspan size. My question is if I fell in would I have lived? I know spirals are supposed to be dangerous alone but the current was also high and I'm a weak swimmer.

TLDR: I almost was taken into a water spiral with a strong current already. Would I have survived if I did fall?
