Hello I am 15 years old soon to be 16 within a few days. I remember when I was young when I was 5 when my oldest brother turned 16 it seemed that he was very old and now I am in his place and it fears me. It seems I am not reaching my goals.
I want to go to the Olympics but not for swimming but instead water polo. To do this I would like to go to one of the top schools USC or UCLA. to do this I need to be fast and reach my goals.
My goals for swim are to get a 20 seconded 50 m freestyle or at least break my schools record which is 21.2 and also I wish to break my schools record for 500m freestyle which is around 4:20 or 4:30.
Right now I am a sophomore and last year my times were 28 Seconds and 5:48 I believe. I feel that these are slow but I did not do swim club at the time. Recently I have joined Swim club and this has made me faster but I am new. right now my fastest 500 is 5:25 but i think I can go faster and my 50 is 24:8 in practice I got a pr so I think I can do better (by the way I don't use tech suits). By the way I am 5'10 or 5'11 I haven't measured in a while. and I started swim 1 month ago and was 185 and now I am 172 and I don't think this is good as it helps to be taller in water polo and if you are loosing weight it becomes harder to get taller.
How do I achieve these goals it what i am asking. I know I cant skip any practices and I feel I am pretty consistent and I do 2 practices a day water polo and swim. it seems very difficult to do but others have done it and they are not more special then I am. It gives me more proof of it being obtainable then it not being. Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated and will not go unconsidered.
