Hey everyone, looking for some advice. I’ve been swimming for about 8 months. For the first 6 months I mostly swam around 2000 yards a day at an easy to moderate pace (about 1:40–1:45 per 100y) mainly for weight loss. Over the last 1–2 months I’ve started training more seriously by doing interval sets, focusing on speed, and occasionally joining Masters practices. I recently timed myself on an all-out 100 for the first time and went 1:06. My goal is to get sub 1. I know I can probably drop a couple seconds with better form and stronger turns, but specifically I’m wondering what training for a sub-1:00 100 actually looks like. What kinds of sets help most, how often should I be doing true race-pace or sprint work, and how much of this is technique versus conditioning? I’ve always known how to swim casually, but I don’t have a traditional team or coaching background, so I’m entirely self learning how to train properly for speed. Any advice or example sets would be appreciated. Note: These are the training plans I'm using right now, just generated by AI (Gemini). I'm planning to generate new sets with times for each interval moving forward, but this is just what I've been using the last 1 month or so when I didn't really have a good grasp on my pace. How Should I Train for Sub 1 Pace? (No competitive Swimming Background)
