’m 31, work from home, and just getting consistent with lap swimming (3x/week). My goal is to build up to swimming a full mile continuously with solid form — not just survive it.
For those of you who made that jump — how did you structure your progression?
Did you focus more on intervals first or longer continuous swims? How long did it take before a mile felt comfortable?
Any lessons you wish you knew earlier (especially around pacing and shoulder fatigue)?
Appreciate any insight — I’m in this for the long game.
