Hello guys. I've recently started swimming once a week for cardio, on my active recovery(AR) day. Basically I do a U L AR U L U+Cardio Rest, split.
(U - Upper, L - Lower)
I've swam before when I was much younger, probably until I was 14, so, I can't drown but I'm not particularly swift either.
Currently, I'm doing around 40 laps, which takes me about 28 to 30 minutes, alternating between styles, except for butterfly (that's hard AF). No warmup, no game plan... Just around 30 to 40 minutes of zone 2 cardio.
I'd like to ask you guys for some suggestions regarding how can I utilize my time the best way, improve on my technique, some things to keep in mind and pacing to strive for.
