Hi, I’m a member of Better Swim in London. I was holding my breath underwater with both arms on the side of the pool, looking at my watch to check the time elapsed. I did this three or four times and a lifeguard came over to stop me, saying holding your breath underwater is disallowed because you might black out. I was surprised. I did that all the time as a kid in our regional pool. So, in the UK, are we banned from holding our breath underwater? Does that mean we’re not allowed to swim underwater too? Seems a bit OTT
